More Than a Meal

As the leaves change colors and a crisp chill fills the air, our thoughts often drift to the warmth of family, the aroma of a festive meal, and the tradition of Thanksgiving. Here at Building Bridges LRC, this time of year holds a special significance. It's not just about the turkey and stuffing; it's a profound moment to pause, reflect, and express heartfelt gratitude for the incredible network of support that allows us to continue our vital work and above all to thank God for His provision in this ministry.
For many of the individuals we serve, Thanksgiving can be a particularly challenging time, marked by loneliness and uncertainty. But thanks to you, our amazing partners, dedicated followers, compassionate church family, and supportive community, we are able to offer more than just a warm meal. We offer a sense of belonging, a glimmer of hope, and a reminder that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
This past Saturday, we gathered for our 2nd Annual Hiram Gresham Memorial Thanksgiving Outreach. Our unsheltered friends got to enjoy a warm traditional Thanksgiving meal
while they listened to an encouraging message of hope and healing from our president, Timothy Living. After the meal, our guests were able to pick out some warm winter clothing thanks to our wonderful partners at the Ranger Church of God. It was a wonderful event! We would like to thank Thrivent for donating the turkeys, and Life Fellowship Church for donating food and also helping to prepare and serve it.
At the end of the event, we had some food left, but we would never let it go to waste! There are many in the community that will not come to outreaches for various reasons and this allowed us to bring food to them. Afterall, we aim to meet them where they are at and show them that we care about them, that God cares about them, and that they matter.
A Thank You to Our Partners
To our tireless partners, both organizations and individuals, who stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us, we extend our deepest thanks. Your unwavering commitment, whether through financial contributions, volunteer hours, or invaluable resources, forms the very foundation of BBLRC. We are blessed by you all, and we are so grateful that you continue to show up for our unsheltered friends in this life changing mission.
“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?" Matthew 18:12 NLT
